The Blarney Stone is an Irish pub in Gastown (Vancouver, BC). We were on a monthly retainer with them and I mostly designed media packages which included: posters, Instagram squares, Facebook cover photos, website banners, table talkers/tent cards, tickets, etc. (give or take some variations dependent on specific events). Every once in a while there would be a different type of project such as a rack card or loyalty card.
They didn’t have a single corporate colour but it green was typically in different shades to remain within the Irish theme. The consistency came across in the vintage/distressed textures that were used across the board. I would start each media package with the poster (11×17″) and resize them down to the additional dimensions for each medium. My designs are made with text hierarchy by having a main title drawing the spotlight with all of the event details as subtext.
My position at Lonely Cloud Design
I worked with Lonely Cloud Design as a contract designer. Our main clientele included: bars/pubs, realtors, and miscellaneous industries. My employer along with the marketing team at the Blarney Stone would critique any drafts I came out with and we would collaborate on design decisions for me to finalize.
