Blend Bubble Tea is a café located in Port Coquitlam, B.C. I was hired as a Graphic Designer to create their corporate identity and I thought it would be fun to post the logo development. A lot of people think that coming up with a logo is a one time “Eureka!” but not quite. Sure, ideas can come to you suddenly; but it takes a lot of time to sketch out, digitally render, and polish up until you are happy with it. Here is my process.
First, the name was unknown. There were considerations of “Boba”, “Modernitea”, and some others. I started with a mind map of relative words.

From there, I began making some sketches and then digital renders:

After quite a bit of refinement, the decision was finalized as:
Now, I am happy to display this logo on their storefront, stationery, uniform, and more. It is a long and mind fluctuating process to design a logo you are satisfied with but you should be proud of the outcome. By looking back at some of the first sketches or drafts at least you know, it could’ve turned out worse.
